ADHC worked collaboratively with NGOs to deliver the Unit Costing Tool project, which has explored common issues when considering the unit cost of services.

The aim of this Unit-Costing Tool is to provide a practical example of how to apply costing & pricing principles for your organisation.

One of the key aims of this resource is to highlight the shortcuts that one may apply in order to be pragmatic. The approach taken is pragmatic above purist - therefore the cost mapping exercise is not academic but is instead based on real experience. For instance, the cost mapping is sometimes done at cost centre level, sometimes at cost type, and sometimes at the service and activity level. Furthermore, this worked example has been highly simplified in order to allow users with no prior knowledge of unit costing to follow the example.
